Welcome To The Chipping & District Agricultural & Horticultural Show Website

Harry Coar President 2018Our Chairman Paul Morris and his excellent Committee have been hard at work for many months, preparing for this the 91st Chipping Show and I am pleased to tell you all that things are coming on very well.

We have some great Main Ring attractions for everyone to enjoy this year including Acrobatic Rider and Horse Display Team, Sheep Racing, Children’s Sports and Entertainments and also the very popular Egg Catching Competition, which I took part in last year, plus a few surprises! There will be many varied and interesting exhibits around the Showground including Flowers and vegetables in the Horticulture Marquee, Handicrafts, Flower Arranging, Photography, Children’s Classes, Poultry, Pigeons and Eggs, YFC and the Cheese Marquee.

The magnificent and superbly prepared Cattle, Sheep, Shire, Shetland and Light Horses and Ponies are all a real credit to their owners and handlers, and after the judging the very best of these animals they will be proudly paraded around the Main Ring for the Grand Parade . The many Vintage Tractors and Machinery, these in particular for myself bring back many fond memories of the late fifties and early sixties when a lot of these tractors were brand new. They are a nostalgic reminder of farming times in the past and will also be paraded in the Main ring during the afternoon.

Other attractions on the day include The Fell Race, the very popular Dog Show, Baby Show and Crafts and Farmers Market. There is a licensed bar along with plenty of food stalls and Trade stands to wander around.

The show this year will be another great day out for all walks of life so hopefully all show goers, young and old, will turn out to support our wonderful Chipping Show.

Thank you
Harry Coar
